An important issue of Camera Work that presented early examples of Steichen's experiments with the Autochrome process, which was first invented by the Lumière brothers in 1904. The process produced a colored transparency on glass, with luminous colors. Autochrome plates yielded their maximum intensity when projected, but they could also be printed on paper with excellent results.
